A jack of all trades. Somewhere between indie pop and hip hop. He took piano lessons at the age of five, learned to play the drums at 13, taught himself to play the guitar at 16, has been writing poetry for as long as he can remember, founded several bands in his youth and studied acting after graduating from high school. Along the way he tried every hobby that was offered in his small hometown (tennis, horseback riding, basketball, you name it) and in between he lived several months in Melbourne as a street musician. Dominik Hartz is a person who tries out a lot. He is also musically changeable. Hartz flirts with hip-hop, but feels just as comfortable in indie-pop. Somewhere in between, he has found his very own voice and his very own style. It's sometimes casual, sometimes light, sometimes self-reflectively ironic and often very profound.
